Fiona Jones

My work explores the similarities between the human anatomy compared to the functions of trees. Our veins and arteries carry the essentials for life around our body as do the roots and veins of trees. Essential tasks such as breathing are a natural compulsion; we need the planet’s life in order to feed our lives, a cycle highlighting a link between nature and man. It’s the idea of how man feeds off nature, not a conscious decision but what our bodies instinctively do. We have evolved to survive from what the Earth has to offer.
My chosen mediums are photography and animation. I gather textures of trees and human bodies, combining them to create images that capture living organisms as one force.
